How to set up a MetaMask Wallet and connect it to the Polygon network

Faiver is now going to use the Metamask wallet and MATIC crypto from the Polygon network.

Polygon is a protocol and a framework for building and connecting Ethereum-compatible blockchain networks. Formerly known as Matic Network, Polygon comes with a user-friendly platform for Ethereum scaling and infrastructure development.

A polygon with its extremely low gas fees and fast transaction speeds is being enjoyed by many users.

Today, we will introduce you to how to set up a Metamask wallet for Polygon.

Install Metamask Extension for your browser.

Visit the browser extension and download the Metamask extension.

Install the MetaMask for your browser.

After installation, click on get started.

Create your wallet.

Now you will need to create a wallet. If you have an existing wallet you can import the wallet with the Secret Recovery Phrase and if you are a new user you can create a wallet by clicking on Create a Wallet.

Set up the password.

Setup your Secret Backup Phrase and make sure to store it somewhere safe.

Now that your Metamask wallet is created let us see how to connect to Matic Network

Click on the Main Ethereum Network tab to switch the connected blockchain and add the Matic network.

Scroll down until you find Custom RPC.

Enter in the Matic Mainnet settings as follows:

• Network Name: Polygon
• New RPC URL: https://polygon-rpc.com or

https://rpc-mainnet.matic.network or any other URL available

• ChainID: 137
• Symbol: MATIC
• Block Explorer URL: https://polygonscan.com/

Metamask for Polygon

Click Save.

This will connect the Polygon / Matic mainnet with the Metamask wallet.
